A child’s learning starts from home. During the formative years, it is the home environment, parents and others. Later, once they enroll into school, teachers and friends add up to contribute to learning and education. The teachers and parents jointly participate in the academic success of the child at school. From time to time, the dependence on each of these entities keeps altering.
Middle school education encourages students to explore, research, investigate, encounter, collaborate and lead essential values. The education system that we are a part of ensure that middle school students have the opportunity to participate in extensive programs in school because such peer to peer, and peer to mentor interaction play a vital role in student life. The outlook and the study materials in the middle school help a lot in overall improvement of the student. The role of parents and teachers is very important at the time of middle school.
So here are some tips that help in ensuring that children in middle school can focus appropriately on their academic pursuit to achieve excellence.
1.Designate a Study Area: studying at the school canteen or on the school steps with your friends may seem like a good idea, but not if there are people constantly interrupting or any such other disruptions. Even at home, studying in front of the television won’t be the best use of your time. A quiet, well-lit, low-traffic space for study time is what is recommended.
2.Get Organized: Between homework, tests and extracurricular activities, it’s all too easy for things to slip through the cracks. A planner can help in keeping everything organized and students should write down assignments, project and to-do lists. A periodic review of items in the planner at both the beginning and end of the day would help to stay on track.
3.Develop a Study Plan: First things first: students need to know when a test will take place, the types of questions that will be included and the topics that will be covered. From there, they should create a study plan and allow ample time to prepare – there’s nothing worse than cramming the night before an exam. Take the help of external resources to create a study plan. For instance if the student desires to study science of Class 8, he/ she should refer to CBSE class 8 science study material, which will help in planning the science chapters for the tests. A wall calendar where to topics and tasks are assigned for each day leading up to a due date or exam, is very helpful. Setting goals for each session is also one of the keys to success.
4.Communicate with your child: Have daily conversations with your child about his or her school day. Every child has the power to succeed in school and in life, provided consistent, encouraging words are there to motivate.
