Management of Injuries
Injuries of Joint - Dislocation: Bones are displaced from their original position (Lower jaw, shoulder joint, hip joint and wrist joint)
Fracture: Breaking of a bone/bone injury
a) Simple or closed fracture
b) Transverse fracture
c) Spiral fracture
d) Comminuted fracture
e) Impacted fracture
f) Greenstick fracture
g) Oblique bone fracture
h) Complicated fracture.

Stress Fracture Stress fracture is a micro fracture in bones. It occurs usually in the tibia. It leads to localised pain and tenderness.
Green Stick Green stick is a fracture in a young, soft bone. In green stick, the bone bends and breaks. This fracture is very difficult to detect.
A greenstick fracture in which the bone is bent, but not broken all the way through.
A comminuted fracture is a break or splinter of the bone into more than two fragments.
Transverse fractures form perpendicular to the long axis of a bone and are the result of a force applied at a right angle to the bone. Oblique fractures are slanted fractures that occur when a force is applied at any angle other than a right angle to the bone.
The main reason of injuries is the rapidity of the game. The common soft tissue injuries, which may occur are a contusion, sprain, bruises strain, and abrasion.
Muscle injury occurs due to a direct hit, with or without any sports equipment. Blood vessels in the muscles are broken, bleeding may occur in the muscles. Stiffness & swelling common sign. The muscle may not respond or may become totally inactive. Common in: Boxing, Wrestling, Kabaddi.
A laceration is an irregular cut in the skin from a sharp object sports equipment. Bleeding occur in less quantity in such a wound. These wounds may be very poisonous.
Incision is a soft tissue injury. It may occur due to sharp edged object of sports Equipments or spikes etc. Sometimes arteries or veins may be cut. Blood usually comes out freely from incision.
Sprain: It is a ligament injury. It may occur due to overstretching or tearing of the ligament. Generally, a sprain occurs at the wrist joint and ankle joint. Sometimes, the fracture is also possible along with the sprain. In such injury, swelling, inflammation, severe pain and tenderness are common symptoms. There can be laxity in the ligament. All the above-mentioned symptoms depend on the severity of the sprain.
Strain: It is also a muscle injury. Strain can be mild as well as severe. Sometimes, the complete muscle can be ruptured. In the case of complete rupture, it is not possible to move that part or limb. There may be severe pain around the rupture. There may be many situations during the practice or competitions when a strain may occur.
