Coulomb’s law states that Force exerted between two point charges is

  1. directly proportional to the product of the magnitude of the two charges (q1, q2),
  2. Is inversely proportional to the square of the distance between these charges (r),
  3. directed along the separation vector connecting their centres (r̂).
