Degeneration of spinal cord is also known as lichtheims disease. It arises due to deficiency of vitamin-B12 (i.e., cyanocobalamine, C63H88N14PCO). It is usually associated with pernicious anemia. Sources of vitamin-B12 are liver of ox, sheep, pig, fish, etc.
