Let the two consecutive odd positive integers be x and x + 2

Since both the integers are smaller than 10

∴                        x < 10 and x + 2 < 10

                     x < 10   and    x < 8

                      x < 8                                                                                              ...(i)

From (i) and (ii), we have

                                

But x is odd.

 x = 5, 7 and x + 2 = 7, 9

Hence, the pair of odd numbers are satisfying the given conditions are 5, 7 and 7, 9.
