The given quadratic equation is
3x² + 13x + 14 = 0
Putting a = – 2, we get
L.H.S. = 3.(–2)²+ 13.(–2) + 14
= 3 x 4 – 26 + 14
= 12 – 26 + 14
= 26 – 26 = 0 = R.H.S.
Hence, x = – 2 is a solution of 3x² + 13x + 14 = 0 Proved.
