471. Three equal cubes of side 4 cm are joined end to end. Find the surface area of the resulting cuboid.

Let l, b and h are respectively the length, breadth and height of the cuboid, then
l = (4 + 4 + 4) cm = 12 cm
when three cubes are joined we gel a cuboid.
So, b = 4 cm and h = 4 cm.
Now,
The Surface Area of the resulting cuboid
= 2 (lb + bh + hl) cm²= 2 (12 x 4 + 4 x 4 + 4 x 12) cm²= 2 (48 + 16 + 48) cm²= (2 x 112) cm²= 224 cm².
