300. Two triangles BAC and BDC, right angled at A and D respectively are drawn on the same base BC and on the same side of BC. If AC and DB intersect at E, prove that AE × EC = BE × DE.

Given: ∆ABC and ∆BDC right angled at A and D respectively, which are drawn on the same base BC.
To Prove : AE × EC = BE × ED
Proof : In ∆AEB and ∆DEC
∠A = ∠D = 90°
and ∠AEB = ∠DEC
[vertically opposite angles]
Therefore, by using AA similar condition
