The NDA exam refers to the National Defence Academy examination, which is a highly competitive entrance exam conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) of India. The NDA exam is held twice a year and is aimed at selecting candidates for admission into the National Defence Academy, which is a premier institution that trains cadets for three of India's major defense services: the Indian Army, the Indian Navy, and the Indian Air Force. The NDA is located in Khadakwasla, Pune, Maharashtra. It is the first tri-service academy in the world.
Applicants to the NDA are selected via a written exam conducted by the UPSC every year, followed by extensive interviews by the Services Selection Board covering general aptitude, psychological testing, team skills, leadership qualities as well as physical and social skills, along with medical tests.
