The National Stock Exchange of India is the latest, most modern and technology-driven exchange and was incorporated in 1992. OTCEI was incorporated in 1992 to provide a listing facility for small companies with paid-up capital of less than 3 crores.

The Exchange provides trading in the following two segments:

  1. Whole Sale Debt Market Segment.
  2. Capital Market Segment.

Objectives Of NSE

NSE was set up with the following objectives:

  1. Establishing a nationwide trading facility for all types of securities.
  2. Ensuring equal access to investors all over the country through an appropriate communication network.
  3. Providing a fair, efficient and transparent securities market using an electronic trading system.
  4. Enabling shorter settlement cycles and book-entry settlements.
