Among different organs of the government: Power is shared among different organs of the government, such as the legislature, executive, and judiciary.
Among the government at different levels:
Central or Union Government, State Government.
Municipality and Panchayats - Local Self Governments (This is system called Federalism).
Different Social Groups: It may also be shared among different social groups, such as the religious and linguistic groups. ‘Community government’ in Belgium is a good example of this arrangement.
Pressure Groups: They influence the Government and force them to change policies. They are farmers, workers, industrialists.
Political Parties: They lead to competition and in return ensures that power does not remain in one hand. Coalition governments are formed if any party fails to get a majority. They have to perform to remain in power.
