Conc. HNO₃can be transported in an aluminium container.

When concentrated HNO₃ is taken in an aluminium container, aluminium is oxidised to aluminium oxide (Al₂O₃). It forms a protective coating on the surface of the aluminium metal and checks further attack by the acid.

Thus aluminium becomes positive and hence aluminium containers can be used to transport concentrated HNO_3.
