a neutrino is a subatomic particle that is very similar to an electron but has no electrical charge and a very small mass, which might even be zero.

Neutrinos are so hard to detect because they interact with other particles only very, very rarely. Interaction is so dared, a neutrino could go through a light year of lead and make it to the other side without even being deflected.

We are used to charge particles, like atoms with their electrons. Electrons have a strong electromagnetic force, so they resist being pushed through other electrons clouds.
