Nationality: Candidate must be a citizen of India or OCI (Overseas Citizen of India). Foreigners and NRI cannot apply for the CGL Exam.
Age Limit: As there are various posts in SSC CGL Exam, and as such is different age criteria for these posts. For most of the (Group- C) category posts, the age limit criteria are 18 to 27 years. However, for (Group -B) category posts, the Upper age Limit varies from 27 to 32 years.
Attempts: Until you have an age advantage, you can appear for this examination ‘n’ of times.
Educational Qualification:
The minimum qualification to apply for CGL Exam is Graduation in any Discipline. However, there are few posts which requires an additional Qualification. These posts are given below;
1) Assistant Audit Officer/ Assistant Accounts Officer: Graduates can apply for these posts. However, the Desirable Qualification for this post is Chartered Accountant / Cost and Management Accountant OR Company Secretary OR M.Com / Master in Business Studies / MBA (Finance) OR Masters in Business Economics.
2) Jr. Statistical Officer: Bachelor’s Degree in any subject from a recognized University or Institute with at least 60% Marks in Mathematics at 12th standard level OR Bachelor’s Degree in any subject with Statistics as one of the subjects at degree level.
Note: The candidates appearing in the final year of their graduation can also apply, however they must possess Essential qualification on or before the specified date (i.e. 1st August 2018). Age limit will be reckoned as on 1st August 2018:
However, the relaxations in the age limit will go, as per the rules already specified.
