(i) When ethanal is heated with iodine and NaOH solution, It gives a yellow crystalline precipitate of iodoform, while, methanal does not give this test.

(ii) When urea is heated just above its melting point and treated with alkali and a drop of dilute CuSO4solution, violet colour appears. While, benzoic acid does not give this test.
