Three resistors of 6 ohm, 2 ohm and 4 ohm respectively are joined together as shown in the figure. The resistors are connected to an ammeter and to a cell of e.m.f 6 V. Calculate:

i) the effective resistance of the circuit.

ii) the current drawn from the cell.


i) Resistors R2 and R3 are ins series.

Because, equivalent resistance, R = 2+4 = 6 which is parallel to R1 = 6 ohm 


So comma space 1 over R equals 1 over 6 plus 1 over 6 equals 2 over 6

ii) Let, V = IR
