Tourism in India
By Ravi
India has fascinated people from all over the world with her secularism and her culture. There are historical monuments, beaches, places of religious interests, hill resorts, etc. that attract tourists. Every region is identified with its handicraft, fairs, folk dances, music and its people. India is known for its rich flora and fauna, beautiful landscapes, glorious past and varied cultural trends. All this makes India a major attraction for tourists from all over the world.
Notwithstanding, there are certain reasons on account of which India has been constantly suffering setbacks in its tourism industry. It is adversely affected by terrorism, tours and pollution. Moreover, travelling is a nightmare in India. To complement it, the existence of unhygienic accommodations at a reasonable cost adds to the distraction of tourists visiting India.
The government of India needs to put concerted efforts in place to revamp tourism in the country. Utmost emphasis should be placed on infrastructure development and in beefing up the security. Such efforts will certainly make India a leader in the world of tourism.
