The circumference of the base of a cylindrical vessel is 132 cm and its height is 25 cm. Find the

(i) radius of the cylinder

(ii) volume of cylinder   ( use   use π =227)

Let the radius of the cylindrical vessel be  r  and its height be  h.

 Height = h = 25 cm.

( i ) Circumference  of the base = 132 cm.

 2 π r = 132  2 × 227 × r = 132  r = 21 cm

( ii ) Volume of cylinder = π r2 h                                     =  227 × 21 × 21 × 25                                     =  22 × 3 × 21 ×  25                                       = 34650 cm3
