2nd (cranial nerve) optic nerve : It is also almost wholly sensory, visceral, bringing impulses of visual sensation from the retina to the brain.
10th cranial nerve : It is probably the most important cranial nerve that arises from the side of the medulla. It is a mixed nerve containing parasympathetic, somatic motor and sensory fibres. The parasympathetic motor fibres supply the visceral of the thorax and the gut in the upper abdomen. The sensory fibres bring information from there viscera and end in various part of brain stem. The somatic efferent fibre supply some laryngeal and pharyngeal muscles.
