 y = 23x - 3

Comparimg this equation with y = mx + C, we get

m = 23, C = - 3

y2 = - 8xa = - 2

The condition is a = mc

 - 2 = 23 × - 3

 - 2 = -2

Thus, the line touches the parabola.

2x3 - 32 = - 8x

2x - 92 = - 72x

 4x2 - 36x + 81 = - 72x

 4x2 + 36x + 81 = 0

 (2x + 9)2 = 0

 x = - 92

y = 23 × - 92 - 3

  = - 3 - 3 = - 6

Therefore, point of contact is (- 92, - 6).
