The University of Cambridge founded in 1209 is a public research university in Cambridge, United Kingdom and is the second-oldest university in the English-speaking world and the world fourth-oldest. One of the world oldest universities and leading educational centers it is also a self-governed community of students. This university is formed from a variety of institutions which include 31 constituent Colleges and over 100 academic departments organized into six schools and they are Arts and Humanities, Biological Sciences, Clinical Medicine, Humanities and Social Sciences, Physical Sciences, and Technology. There is a Council of each School – including representatives of its Faculties and Departments. The Schools are represented on the General Board.

Cambridge University Press, a department of the university, is the world oldest publishing house and the second-largest university press in the world.

There are currently more than 20,000 undergraduate and postgraduate students at the University with close to 8,000 international students representing over 120 different countries. Around 20% of undergraduate students and 50% of graduate students are from outside the UK.
