The king applied a very weird logic to come to the conclusion. According to the King, the real culprit was the merchant as he had inherited everything from his father so he should take the responsibility of his father's sin as well. As the merchant was too thin to fit on the new execution stake so he escaped execution. The king concluded that a man fat enough to fit the stake will serve the purpose.

The disciple decided to stay in the Kingdom of Fools because the cost of everything was single duddu. And all that he wanted was good and very cheap food. According to guru, it was not a good idea to stay there as they all were fools and the situation will not be the same for long. He was not sure about what they will do in the future.

The two strange things that the guru and his disciple observe in the kingdom of fools are:

1) In the kingdom, people slept during the day and worked in the night. Even animals didn't venture out during the daytime.

2) The cost of everything in the market was the same, one duddu (local currency).

Following people were tried in the king's court:

1) The merchant was the first accused because the wall of his house collapsed and killed the thief.

2) The second accused was a bricklayer who built the weak wall that collapsed and killed the thief.

3) The third accused was a dancer who distracted the bricklayer, resulting in poor quality of the wall.

4) The fourth accused was a goldsmith who called the dancer again and again to deliver the jewellery. Which in turn led to the distraction of the bricklayer.

5) The fifth accused was merchant's father as his pressure on the goldsmith delayed the finishing of dancer's work. Since the merchant's father has died, the merchant would be executed in his father's place.

6) The last accused was the disciple because the merchant was too thin to be executed by the newly made stake and a fat man was required to fit the stake. The disciple was very fat, hence he was caught.

The Guru's words of wisdom were- You never know what those foolish people would do to you next' When disciple's life was at stake then he remembered his guru's words.
